For the people of Israel belong to God. They are God’s special possession. God found them in a desert land, in an empty, howling wasteland. God surrounded them and watched over them; God guarded them as if they were God’s own eyes. Like an eagle that rouses her chicks and hovers over her young, so God’s wings spread and took them up and carried them safely on pinions. Deut. 32:9-11

Let us pray. Thank you, O God, that you see us and watch us like an eagle watches the floor of a desert and that you know what we face every day and walk with us through all the challenges we face. Amen.
